Really friendly and helpful staff, comfortable quiet rooms, with a relaxed and almost domestic atmosphere. They even have a hotel cat!

    Fabulous

Pleasant, good location, fresh fruit salad for breakfast, fresh ingredients for breakfast, cutlery and plates clean and not disposable, family atmosphere, large rooms, availability of free internet, friendly and trusting hosts, snacks available in lounge, friendly and helpful service.

Mosquitoes in my room. Noisy air conditioner.

    Fabulous

It's a unique and comfortable b&b in the Chelsea in Manhattan with a very courteous staff and nice sized rooms. We had to extend our stay indefinitely at the last minute due to Hurricane Irene and they were happy to have us stay and helped us with find transportation to upstate ny when the trains were disabled. There are lots of good restaurants in the area and it's subway close. We'll definitely return.

Such a friendly and warm feeling - beautiful decor without being pretentious. The best complimentary breakfast I've ever had in a downtown hotel. The resident cat who rides the elevator with you is also a major selling point.

The staff, especially Thomas, were very friendly and helpful. The Inn felt like a home away from home. The room was spacious and well appointed. The beds were excellent and the airconditioning was a life saver in summer. Location is excellent. We shall definitely consider staying an the Inn again. The Inn is most suitable for families or groups of friends on holiday.

Staff was welcoming and charming. Breakfasts were delicious. Loved the European feel of the whole experience. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Infinitely nicer than a big chain hotel!

Water pressure was a bit low--but we know that's common in New York. Mattress was just a little soft for us. But really, we're nit-picking here. Loved it and would recommend it and return ourselves.

The concierge wasoutstanding. He provided us with many details about the hotel and the city that were extremely helpful. He was friendly and articulate. He was easy to talk to. The room was clean and comfortable. It has personality unlike the chain hotels. The breakfast was just right! The library area was lovely - it was welcoming - wish we had more time to spend there.

    Superb

We like staying in small hotels in interesting neighborhoods, and this inn was a perfect fit. Ecclectic and charming room, lovely library/breakfast area, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, good breakfasts. Subway stations were very convenient, for several different lines. Many excellent neighborhood restaurants within walking distance. Safe neighborhood. Plus, the new High Line is just a few blocks away, a very nice place for a peaceful stroll.

We are not used to air conditioning, and the buzz of the air conditioner kept me awake for the first night or two. Other than that, no complaints.

The Inn was lovely, an oasis in the middle of Manhattan. The staff was friendly and eager to help with anything. I loved all the artwork and the ambiance of the library.

There was a cockroach in the room but it's New York City! How can you avoid them!

It was like staying in someones home, with lovely furniture and and a very spacious room. I also liked that there was free wi-fi and the opportunity to use a printer (and computer, if you did not have your own). The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was close to the path train and subway, so it was easy to get around.

A little pricey, but I'll stay there again!

Having stayed at the Inn about 5 years ago I had no hesitation in choosing this hotel for our 3 night add on after our once in a lifetime trip, Titanic Memorial cruise commemorating 100yrs since that fateful maiden voyage. The Inn has changed since our first visit as street level is now a restaurant called the Guilty Goose & the room we stayed in last visit is now the office but it felt like coming home.. Our room was spacious, clean & comfotable & was available for occupation when we arrived at 11.30am. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there the library has tea coffee & an honour system bar (yes really in ny!) which is open 24 hrs.. Free cheese & wine between 5 & 7pm on Fri & Sat & cake put out for afternoon tea, yum! The location is brilliant, didn't realise until this trip that 23rd is a main artery & how easy it was to get to all the major attractions in ny from here either by Subway, Bus (get an unlimited metro card for $29) or on foot... Did lots of walking. The Inn has a very friendly cat called Dorothy so bear that in mind if not a cat person! All the staff were friendly & helpful from the owners to the service staff. This would be my 1st choice when next in ny

A kettle in the room would be nice

It was absolutely brilliant, like staying as a guest in a close friend's home. The staff couldn't do enough for us and made us feel like old friends (as did Dorothy the hotel cat, who curled up close to us!). Each room is different (ours was bamboo-themed) and the Inn has a good library and even has passes to the big New York museums for its guests

There was nothing at all to dislike about the Inn
